Scorpions Program History
The Scorpions Baseball Program, based in Orlando, FL, is heralded as one of the most established and premier travel programs in the United States, a distinction it has held since Sal Lombardo founded it in 1994. Renowned for its dedication to excellence, the Scorpions are a nationally respected organization, consistently assembling elite teams at both the high school and youth levels.
Presently, the Scorpions boast six affiliates (Orlando, Miami, Mid-South, Texas, New England, and Great Lakes), achieving national rankings and developing notable players such as Jackson Holliday, Dylan Crews, Chris Sale, Zach Greinke, Brendan Rodgers, Johnny Venters, Cody Allen, and Brad Miller. In addition, the Scorpions have partnered with the Los Angeles Dodgers to create a fall scout team, highlighting the premier talent from all Scorpions affiliates.
At the heart of the Scorpions' mission is the aim to have a positive impact on their players' lives, both on and off the field. While they take pride in their track record of fostering players who advance to college and professional baseball, they find the greatest joy in the life achievements of their alumni off the field.
The Scorpions Baseball Club is owned and operated under the leadership of Robert "Coach" Rikeman.
MISSION
The Scorpions are already renowned for guiding players to college baseball and beyond. Our mission is to build upon this reputation by gaining the esteem of both professional and college baseball circles as the premier organization for developing true “baseball players.” We are committed to ensuring that our student athletes approach the game with respect and a thorough understanding of the correct way to play. By prioritizing development first, followed by showcasing and competition, we will provide each player with a personalized development plan. Our ultimate aim is for every player to leave our club as a better individual, both on and off the field, than when he arrived.
DEVELOPMENT MODEL
"TRAIN, DEVELOP, SUCCEED"
The Scorpions prioritize development at both the Youth and High School levels. Regardless of whether you're a nine-year-old player or a potential first-round draft pick, there's always an opportunity to enhance your game. Our objective is to support your player development comprehensively. To achieve this, we've established a model at both levels to ensure that both our goals and yours are achieved.
